Mobilisation/ Manipulation

This involves small movements of one or more joints, usually of the spine, but also used for the peripheral joints. This helps to free the joint and relieve pain and spasm.

Sports massage

This involves deep soft tissue manipulation to encourage the healing of macro tears sustained in the muscle fibres which manifest during prolonged or arduous training sessions

Electrotherapy

This may include ultrasound, interferential or electro acupuncture

Remedial massage

Although this traditional physiotherapy modality has seen a decline in use by modern physiotherapists, there are a growing number of experienced physiotherapists that have rediscovered its merits as a powerful part of effective treatments. Mehrdad's approach therefore is a 'hands on' philosophy which he believes gives him effective, efficient results which in turn has given rise to a successful clinic

Acupuncture
for pain relief

This involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, disposable needles and is essentially a pain free procedure

Myofascial Release

This is another 'hands on' system utilised by Mehrdad. Devised by John F. Barnes in the U.S.A, it is a whole body work approach to soft tissue manipulation. Mehrdad has studied with the UK's leading authority (Myofascial Release U.K.) on blended classical and modern myofascial release techniques. Because fascia (the connective tissue around muscle and organs) has the ability to contract and relax, it plays a core role in restoring muscle function. The whole network of fascia is considered and the principle that the whole is treated rather than an isolated problematic area is central to this approach.

Rehabilitation exercises

One of the most important aspects of the treatment plan is the rehabilitation exercises. It is important to stretch and strengthen the appropriate muscles throughout the rehabilitation period. Recurrence of injury can often be prevented by keeping the correct balance between strength and flexibility. This is achieved through individually tailored programmes of exercise and stretching prescribed for speedier recovery
